Last week I’ve you would have found that I’ve posted 65+ Handpicked Goodies for web developers & designers for the month of October 2013 and I thought that i have done finding those great new resources for web developers and designers, but I’ve haven’t as you will find that I’ve found some more but i might say that some of these awesome resources are thanks to some people who personally submitted their own resources to be included here.

In the resources below you will find such items  jQuery plugins, mac apps that lets you share files, secure your mac, some great iOS & Web apps, an an excellence Photoshop plugin that contains the biggest vector icons collection, some great css/responsive frameworks, blogging software to a great site for you to learn on how to install rails to some new WordPress themes, WordPress plugins which are both free & premium and this time I’ve also included some Tumblr & Joomla premium themes and the normal icons and fonts.

Today’s I will be featuring 12 Great Examples of Flat Web Design but you may wonder what is actually  “Flat Web Design?”, Well it just means designing without the  gradients, pixel perfect shadows and skeuomorphism that’s been trending of quite a while.

If you haven’t heard this great news that everyone’s favourite company Google has introduced the Google Font Directory and Google Font API. This is a free web service that allows website owners the ability to utilise other fonts outside of the Web-safe fonts infrastructure in an easy, convenient and efficient way.

Further more due to the operations that is being performed behind the scenes at google, these custom fonts will even be recognised all the way back to Internet Explorer 6 and I for one are extremely excited about the possibilities.This including the font catalog is surely to continue expanding over the coming years.

If you decide to use Google’s Font API, here are some of the things you’ll be able to take advantage of.

  • Keep using HTML text
  • Web accessible
  • Using Google servers (save on bandwidth & caching benefits)
